Bryncethin U14's made the trip down the road to Bridgend Ath, both teams know each other very well and this fixture did not disappoint, Bryncethin turned up with 17 players with players injured and away which resulted in players playing out of position, Josh was outstanding on the wing, Iestyn was outstanding at full back, after a knock to our play maker Tom B Jack was outstanding at outside half and Blake was outstanding at Centre. No player moaned at having to change position which is a credit to them. Alix scored the 1st of his 3 trys with a powerful run through a congested midfield to score under the posts, Billy converted, Josh showed power and pace to score our second which Billy converted. Liam did what he does best and powered over for our third, a burst of pace from our outstanding captain Tom P saw him grab our forth, and Alix grabbed our 5th and 6th trys to seal a fantastic win away from home. Credit to the Ath boys they never gave up and scored some good trys. The whole team stepped up today and showed what they can do, Lewis in only his 2nd game was unlucky not to score and showed great power around the pitch, Rhys has grown in confidence since joing us and Ben was only stopped from scoring by some excellent tackles, all 3 boys new to the team but after watching them today you would have thought so. It was also good to see a fair referee away from home and i thought he had a very good game. It was also good to see the coaches congratulate BOTH sets of players for a game well played. Lastly i would like to say how the team responds to the amazing support from the parents and supporters of this team, there has never been a better atmosphere as there currently is. OUTSTANDING. Speedy recovery to Tom B and Morgan B after they both took some knocks during the game.
MOTM today was Jack, he came on to replace Tom B at 10 and controlled the line in both attack and defence, setup a couple of trys, a great loyal member of the team
