Injury Stops Match

This league fixture was abandoned after 30 minutes due to one of the Crynant players sustaining a serious lower leg injury.
Crynant' s game plan is very much based on their strong and experienced pack, and Bryncethin found out why early on as the visitors pack drove over for a try in the first 3 minutes and this was followed by a similar try a few minutes later, which was converted to give Crynant a 12 point lead in as many minutes. The young and relatively inexperienced home eight gave their all to try and counter the visitors forward power but had no real answer against a much heavier and experienced pack in the first twenty minutes. This resulted in a further two tries for Crynant, one from their backs and yet another from a forward drive from a lineout, that was converted to open up a 24-0 lead.
The lighter and quicker home pack, and their back line, were forced to live of scraps of possession, but made full use of it as they made a series of attacks in to the visitors territory as  the game settled down to a more even contest. After 30 minutes of play,  the visitors' wing went over on his ankle as he attempted to chance direction and sustained a serious leg injury that required medical attention, and the game was immediately stopped whilst an ambulance was called. After a break of over 90 minutes the referee called the captains and coaches together and it was agreed that the match would be abandoned.
Next week Bryncethin have another break from the league before they travel to Glyncorwg, on the 17th. December, for their last game of 2016.
