A Good Lesson

Bryncethin U14's entertained St Peters and even had the pleasure of playing with a blue sky and the sun shining.  Much like Wales yesterday, Bryncethin were slow to start and up against a very well drilled team like St Peters you are going to be punished, and punished we were.  We were 2 trys down before we knew what was happening and missed tackles and players not getting to the break down saw us lose possession and territory.  It wasn't all doom and gloom and there were some big hits from Alix, Greg, Kieran, Josh and Ben.  Some quick thinking by Josh saw him put the St peters under all sorts of pressure which allowed him to react and score off a loose ball.  We scored our second with some excellent link play between Liam and Tom P off a scrum to see Liam score under the posts which Billy converted.  Our third try saw Tom P run from the half way line to score a well deserved try.  This was a good test for us, it shows where we need to work on our game and we need to play better as a team.  Connor and Kieran made their 1st starts for us today and both had an excellent start.  Kieran with his running and tackling and Connor showing unbelievable power in the scrum line out (see how high Niall is in the photo)

Man of the match today was Josh, He was outstanding today, didn't miss a tackle, bagged himself a try and covered every blade of grass.  Excellent to see him back in a Bryncethin shirt.
