RIP Stuart Angove

Today Bryncethin RFC and the Ogmore Valley mourns the loss of our former player Stuart Angove as his funeral takes place.

Stuart was a very good mobile prop, who would have thrived in today's game.

Not only did Stuart represent Bryncethin RFC, he would also turn out on a Sunday morning for the Toucans. He represented the charity/social side for many seasons and was never short of a smile, taking every opportunity to have a laugh or take the 'mickey'.

As well as being a 'solid' rugby player, Stuart was also a footballer of some quality. He loved to play darts, pool and table tennis, and was a formidable opponent in all three. He could turn his hand to most sports.

Stuart lived in Nantymoel for several years and was recently divorced. Shortly after his separation, he was diagnosed with lung cancer. Stuart, being the man he was, fought hard against the disease for a few years, but when it spread to the brain, he was no longer able to beat it. He passed away aged 58, joining too many other Bryncethin RFC taken too early. That team in the sky is getting rather formidable now.

Please post a photo of yourselves raising a glass to Stuart at 8pm tonight (Thursday 16th April) as a toast in  celebrating his life, and post it to: https://www.facebook.com/groups/527768061275453/

Stuart will be sorely missed by his friends at the club and our condolences are sent to his family.
