Bryncethin U14's made the trip to Pontypool and it was a welcome sight to see us start a game with a bang with some excellent offloading by Liam, Tom P and Josh which saw Josh cross the line to score. after a confident start the team kept the pressure up on a hard working Pontypool team which saw Liam and Tom B scoring 2 quick trys, Billy converting 1 of them. the centre partnership of Greg and Alix were outstanding with them both not given the opposition any time on the ball. Tackling was key for today with Greg , Tom P and Liam stopping anything that went near them. Billy was next on the score sheet which he converted and once again Alix lit up the pitch with his pace as he crossed, Billy converted. Alix bagged his 2nd soon afterwards. With the forwards providing the platform to release the backs Billy crossed for his 2nd which Iwan T converted and when the ball went to Elis on the wing with 5 minutes to go he did what he does best and flew down the wing to score which Liam converted. There were alot of positives to take from this game with the boys working very hard , some notable mentions today, Greg had a couple of excellent runs and only some excellent tackling from Pontypool stopped him grabbing a couple of try's, Rhys at full back was excellent under the high ball and ran back the ball with interest every time they kicked to him. MOTM was Elis, he didn't put a foot wrong today. Well done boys and thanks for everyone who came to watch.
