Bryncethin host local rivals Bridgend Ath to in our 1st home game since November. This was the third meeting of these 2 teams and this game lived up to previous efforts that both teams have put in. The Ath got off to a good start throwing the ball around before crossing over after working the overlap. Bryncethin hit back with some good tries of their own, Tom B finishing of a find team try was followed shortly by Tom P scoring a well worked effort in the corner. Our third try was all about the determination of captain Tom P who sprinted 50 mtrs, made a tackle and gathered the ball, some quick hands saw Ben P score in the corner. With the Ath having the wind advantage in the second half it was Bryncethin who struck 1st, Tom breaking 2 tackles in his own half sprinted to score a fine solo effort, with our normal kicker off Liam stepped up and with a mighty hoof slotted over a fine conversion. Bryncethin didn't have it all their own way and the Ath scored some good tries to keep it within 1 score. The final word of the game was another break by Tom P who with only a couple of mins on the score board scored his third try of the game. Even though we have missed lots of game time and looked rusty at times Bryncethin pulled off another solid victory. Excellent support from the parents today.
Man of the Match was Tom P, simply awesome and showed fitness levels that some senior players would be proud of.
