Bryncethin hosted Pencoed and there has been much talk about how we start games, As soon as the players set foot on the pitch the coaches kept reminding them about all the hard work they have done and now was the time to show it. From the whistle Bryncethin showed what they were made of with some slick backs passing, excellent handling by both forwards and backs resulted in Bryncethin scoring the opening try with Alix show his pace to score under the sticks which Liam converted, both teams looked to play the ball wide and Bryncethin had done its homework on picking up the Pencoed danger men with Greg and Jayke closing down any attack. Another attack from Bryncethin gave Alix his 2nd try. Bryncethin finished the half strong with Tom B spotting a gap and bursting through to score under the post converted by Liam. The 2nd half was a close battle by both teams who didn't want to give an inch. Try of the match saw Tom B make another burst through the Pencoed defense to off load to Liam who crashed over for Bryncethins 4th try of the game and a lead to 24 points. With 5 minutes to go Pencoed used the ball well and scored a try. This for me was this teams best performance ever, every player that came on to the pitch was there to play rugby and give 100%. We have 5 new player in this team and this could be unsettling but huge credit to Rhys, Rhys, Blake, Alix and Morgan they have stepped up to the plate and made us a stronger team. Well done boys coaches and parents are so proud of you. MOTM was Tom B, easily his best performance in a Bryncethin shirt, he controlled attack and defense like a seasoned Pro.
